I have been running realplayer for about 3 to 4 years now. Recently, I tried to installed realplayer back onto my repaired computer a desktop running Windows XP Professional SP2. My computer has a 500 GB harddrive and 2GB of memory, a brand new GForce PCI video card with an HD 23" dell monitor. Totally upgraded dell machine. Everything is placed back onto the computer except realplayer. I was using version 16 before. When I downloaded it last weekend, it downloaded but would not play a video. Then it gave me a message and said that I needed to download version 18. I downloaded version 18 and still no success. What has changed with Realplayer/Realtime that I can't run reliable realplayer anymore.? What version works with my system that's guaranteed to work? I don't want to switch to another media player, I like realplayer / realtime.
