Cannot play .smi file

I just downloaded this and I tried playing a .smi file but it is not working. Do I have to upgrade in order to play it?

  You able to play the SMIL file format using the basic RealPlayer. However installing the K-Lite codec pack often helps to fix issues related to playback. You can install it from the link below:

  http://files2.codecguide.com/K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1300_Mega.exe 

  After installing the codec, restart your computer and try playing the videos again.

  If this does not resolve your issue, please provide the following information:

  • What happens when try to play?

  • Did you receive any error message? What does it say?
  • Is this happening to all videos or just with only smil file format

  • What version of RealTimes or RealPlayer is installed? (See https://customer.real.com/hc/en-us/articles/204039513)
  • What is the operating system of your computer (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10)?
  • Do you have any security software installed (Norton, McAfee, AVG, etc.)?
