Side by side configuration incorrect after doing critical update to downloader
After updating Realdownloader, I had to install the newest version of Realplayer. It will not open or run, gives me a message of "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail"

If you are unable to uninstall RealPlayer, please first over-install RealPlayer and then uninstall it. You need to make sure that RealPlayer is uninstalled properly before you install it.
To over-install RealPlayer, please visit: www.real.com then download and install the latest version.

Install RealPlayer by running the alternative installation file. To do so, please follow these steps:
- Go to: http://www.real.com/ and download RealPlayer.
- Run the downloaded installation file and wait until the following window appears and close it ( see screen shot 1).
- Click the "Alternate Installer.." button. This will download the full installation file, which is larger (see screen shot 2).
- Run the downloaded full installation file and follow the steps to install RealPlayer.
Note: When RealPlayer prompts you to create an account, please select the "Already have an account? Sign in" option of the last installation window. Once the sign in window appears, please sign in with your email address and the respective password.0 -
The link to uninstall is not valid. I over installed Realplayer but still cannot uninstall.
