Unable to open Realplayer Program

 I cannot open my realplayer downloader in Chrome. It works fine in Internet Explorer. I attempted to open the program to check for updates. Each time it attempts to repair the database... then it crashes. I think I need to just do a reinstall however; I do not have my serial number... Can I just do an update and if I do will it keep my serial? If I have to re-enter my serial this could be a problem (since I don't have it recorded).
