Why am I getting a "Cannot contact AutoUpdate server" or "AutoUpdate server is not responding" error when using RealPlayer?
You may have seen one of these messages while attempting to use a RealPlayer feature that requires a software update, such as playing a file in a new format.
If you are using a retired product or older version, such as RealJukebox or RealPlayer 16 or lower:
You are seeing this message because the AutoUpdate servers for legacy and historic products have been shut down.
As RealNetworks makes new products available to customers, it is not possible to continue providing update support to legacy and historic products. Product development has stopped, and no updates or security patches will be released for these product versions.
Many problems you might have using these older products can be resolved by upgrading to a current version.
If you have a recent version of RealPlayer:
There may be an issue with the AutoUpdate servers or a momentary interruption in your internet connection. Please try again later.
