After update cannot sign in to RealPlayer, "not connected to RealTimes" message.
I am using Ver 20.0.2.314 on an HP PC. I never sign out of RealPlayer on my PC. When I tried to open it to view recent downloads, I was told to sign in. When I tried to sign in, I was told that I was not connected to RealTimes. I tried to follow a suggested fix by running "Services msc" but when I typed it into RUN, it would not open, so I could not follow the rest of the instructions.I tried restarting several times, but it was always the same and I could not restart in Safe Mode.

To resolve your issue, please "over-install" RealPlayer by going to www.real.com. Over-install simply means installing RealPlayer over the existing RealPlayer. When you go through the installation process, you will be prompted that RealPlayer is already installed, simply proceed with the installation when prompted.

I did download RealPlayer to my Desktop but did not install it as I am worried that it is the Free version and I had made a one-time purchase of the Plus Version in 2016. I don't know if the download is the same for all plans and if the Plus version will become active when I sign in to the new installation. I first purchased RealPlayer in 2007 and thought it was a wonderful way to keep a permanent file of video information at your fingertips. I wrote an article extolling its virtues in the Jan.2015 "Nugget" for the North MS Gem & Mineral Society. Thank you for your help. I hope we can get this solved.

Although I had purchased RealPlayer Pro Ver16.0.3.51 on 1/19/2016, at some point, my one-time purchase became a subscription without my knowledge or consent. When I called RealPlayer concerning that problem, I was given the option to keep my program without the subscription. According to my records, my computer was reset and RealPlayer was reinstalled on 8/11/16. Since that time, I have updated whenever prompted: by 3/8/18, I had updated to Ver 18.1.11.204 with auto sign-in; 6/19/18, Ver.18.1.12.206; 7/11/18, reinstalled after the purchase of new hard drive. I have only updated RealPlayer Pro, never upgraded without a deliberate purchase, and only to own the program, not subscribe. The last update led me to 2020, and I found myself signed out of RealPlayer Pro and unable to sign back into the program. So, I had already been using Version 18 for over 2 years when I was updated to Version 20. I hope you can find this post, because this was the only place I could find that would let me write. Thank you for all of your help, time and attention to my problem.
