Can you please let us know the following information:

Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer.
Right click on videodl and click Properties and then the Details tab.

Please provide us with the version number you see there.

Could you also provide us with a sample URL that you are unable to download and the web browser you are using?

I am having the same problem, can't download anything

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYfigDzpFTs

    videodl version : 2023.10.13.0

    realplayer version: 22.0.5.310

I've tried doing the restart of the realdownloader in the system tray then restarting the browser, restarting my computer, I don't have the file to delete in my Users AppData Realplayer Content folder, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program as well as doing the overlay reinstall. It does look like for a fraction of a second the window to download appears and is then replaced with the "Realplayer can not download vidoes on this page" window, almost like it wants to download but stops and just says it can't.

    Guillermo & Gordon,

Which browser are you both using?

My main is Opera GX. I have Edge, Chrome, Fire Fox and the Brave Browser downloaded too. I tried to download videos using links from all the listed browsers and they're not working.

I have tried with Edge and Firefox, I also tried doing a direct URL download in the downloader itself and the same message pops up. Also I'm using windows 10 home, version 10.0.19045

I found and was able to fix the problem, it was with the firewall permissions. Turns out with the most recent update my firewall decided to block the videodl.exe downloader program from the internet. This is the first time an updated file was blocked like this, even my other PCs automatically allowed the the update to access the internet through a similar firewall.

I restarted the PC in safe mode and found the downloader works when my firewall wasn't up. I checked the exceptions and while all the previous versions and files of real downloader were enabled the newest file videodl.exe was marked as disabled. After enabling it and reseting the downloader I can now download again. Just some info for others to look into.

    Guillermo,

We don't support Opera browser but it should still work with Chrome, Edge & Firefox. As Gordon mentioned, if a firewall is blocking your videodl.exe, the Downloader button won't even show up. If you are seeing the Downloader button on your browsers, you could also check if there is a download path in your Downloader Preference. If it is blank, you will see such messages. If there is a download path and yet you are seeing the error, change the download path to a different location like a folder in your Desktop. If it starts to work, you may have some Windows rights issue going on with the Videos folder.

That kind of threw me for a loop also, the downloader button showed up in both Edge and Firefox and would actually try to find and download the video on that url. When I looked close the download window would flicker for a fraction of a second then it would go and remain on the "can't download on this sight" window. It was strange, never seen this happen before. But like you said checking the firewall and folder permissions would probably be the next thing to try for Guillermo.

So I went to the Control Panel, System and Security, Windows Defender Firewall, Allowed Apps. I pressed "Change Settings" and checked both boxes for RealDowloader, RealPlayer, and RealTimes. I also added videodl.exe when I couldn't find it and checked both boxes. Aaaand nothing. What am I doing wrong?
