Can you please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer and look for a file name videodl.exe. Can you please right click on it and go to Properties. We would like you to click the Details tab and let us know what the Product Version is?

Please note: It should be 2020.01.24

If it is not this version, please follow these steps to update your Downloader.

    1. Type Internet Options in the Windows search bar or open Internet Explorer and click Internet Options.
    2. Under Browsing History, click Delete and Delete again when prompted.
    3. Click OK and close Internet Options/Internet Explorer.
    4. Open one of the web browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge) and go to YouTube.com.
    5. Click the Download This Video button. (You will still receive "No videos to download" message at this time)
    6. Close all Windows and restart your PC.
    7. Go back to your web browser and download a video. (You should be able to download videos again)

If the issue persists, please let us know.

I checked - I have the correct version.  Now the downloader icon is showing and it allows me to click on the "download this video"  button.  Then it runs thru the process as if it is downloading. But, when it's finished, it says Unable to Download.

    Can you help?

    THanks.

I have exactly the same problem - finishing with an "unable to download" error message . . . but only with recently uploaded youtube videos.  Older videos can still be downloaded without any hitches.

This isn't the first time Youtube has introduced something new to discourage the downloading of shows but RealPlayer technicians have always managed to come up with a solution in the past.  Patience will probably be rewarded again this time.

Thank you, Ian. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who is having this issue. I agree with you about videos from YouTube. Older videos seem to be fine, just the new ones are the problem.  I'm hoping they get this fixed!

    Randi & Ian,

Do you mind providing us some samples with full URL of those YouTube videos? We will test them in-house and see what might be the problem.

    Here's one example:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dewktPv5QYc

When I try to download that clip with Google Chrome (my regular browser) or back-up browsers Firefox of Microsoft Edge I get the "unable to download" error message.

But here's the weird thing:  When I open my ancient Internet Explorer browser it does download.  But I only use IE as a last resort because Microsoft warns they "will stop supporting this browser soon."

PS  I should have added that I also get an "unable to download" error message if I avoid browsers altogether by opening RealPlayer, clicking on the "download a video" button and then pasting the URL link in the RealPlayer download box.
