About a week ago, I was convinced by one of those promotional popups we ALL get at what seems to me, too frequently. I had been exposed to the "player" concept only briefly when i was trying to revive an older PowerBook G4, mostly for the experience. I'm a HP & PC consumer. I never really got Player  to work on that either. However, I thought since I only have four or five other programs to download and play videos on my desktop now, I thought it prudent to clutter things a bit more. The experience turned out to be just exactly like I was expecting it would be. Before I even got the "free trial" loaded safely stored where I knew it would be for when I had some time to install and reintroduce myself, I was being persuaded to upgrade, "improve the experience" with all the bells & whistles, etc...Then of course there was the supporting software that I was a most BEFORE I could download anything. Once again I went along with all of it because I had started. I know I was far enough into this to know if I hit the close button now, I would be inundated with emails wondering why we interrupted in the process. (You had my email at this point) Anyway, I did finally get it installed over a very slow internet service that is tethered through my ATT phone and I even had the icon pinned to tray.  Now, every time I look at my computer there are messages from guess who?  But then you already know. The "Real Family" not only wants to help with downloading the most popular videos, streamed event, and TV shows; they would be happy to help with that upgrade to what I assume is still a "FREE TRIAL" that I will also assume is at least a functioning example of the full-fledged application. That being the case, you don't have much of a chance of EVER selling me this product. That dropdown box at the top, it can't find a video on THIS computer and then download it. Not even when I type the path to it in the search box. Now please don't think I am expecting something for free. I am not opposed to paying for something that works somewhat like it is advertised to me. (Let it be known, I will NEVER put my credit card info or plug any of that kind of info into a web page. I still write checks)  With all that has been said, I want you to know that I am willing to give your software a chance because I still think you have some interesting and very useful features that I have not seen elsewhere.  Perhaps it IS something on my end. For one thing, I think I down loaded a 32-bit program and I know I am running 64-bit on what I think is the beta for Windows11. AS we all know, it will take MS several years for people like you and I to get MOST of the bugs out for them. Work with me here and see if we can't get at least ONE video on this newly refurbished HP ProDesk 600. Old but sound and now turbo-charged, well comparatively so. Thanks for indulging me too.
