update I just received

I just received an update notice, but I'm afraid to activate it.  My realplayer has been working okay, and I see a lot of posts about people having problems with doing updates.  I would be very upset if downloading an update screwed up my realplayer.  I'm  thinking of not doing the update.  Is there any real "must do" reason for me to do the update?

  All updates come with certain improvements and a fix to unresolved issues. However we cannot guarantee that by installing the update you will not have an issue. However you are not obliged to install the updates.
