Why should I save videos in RealMedia HD format?
After downloading a video, a message appears and ask whether I want to save videos in RealMedia HD format.
Is this a spam by a third party which could change all previously downloaded videos to this new format if I agree, and by which I will no longer be able to use the RealPlayer features?
Once I agree to save videos in RealMedia format, will I be charges a fee in addition to what I am paying for RealPlayer?

RealMedia HD is a new video codec created by RealNetworks (not a third party) to reduce file size while maintaining image quality when saving HD videos. There is no additional charge to convert or play videos using RealMedia HD.
RealMedia HD technology increases compression efficiency by 30% - 45% compared to MP4 to free up storage while providing a high-definition image.
Good to Know:
- RealMedia HD files can be played only with RealPlayer.
