Need to restart computer for realplayer to work

I get the "download this video " button showing up(that's not a problem) but nothing happens when I hit the button......the only way I can get this to work is to shut down the computer and restart it. The realplayer works the way it always did for a couple of videos then stops working again, then I have to restart it again. Copying the URL doesn't work either.....it does when realplayer is working correctly.Things I have checked

Have version 17.-------something, something, something

I am signed in!!

Realplayer Add-on is present, even when not working

Changing to administrator does not work.

Most of the troubleshooting on youtube or anywhere else deals with the "download this video button not showing up. Like I said, it is there but when you click on it, nothing happens

Whatever is going on, when I shut down the computer and restart, it works for a few videos.

Really need help here. I'm a senior but not computer illiterate. Help!!!!

  The video download fails if you are installed the older version of RealPlayer. We recommend you to have the latest build of RealPlayer.
