flash plugin not working with realplayer SP

Hi, I tried to open .flv files with realplayer SP on mac. (I dont want to use realtime.) But a message keeps popping up because “flash is not installed” which I did install flash player. I tried to reset or uninstall/install realplayer, none of them worked. Under media type preferences, flash video is checked. Could you please tell me how to solve this? thx

  We no longer support RealPlayer SP for Mac. Product development has stopped, and no updates or security patches will be released for this version. Therefore, we strongly recommend using RealTimes.
