  Installing the K-Lite codec pack often helps to fix issues related to playback. You can install it from the link below:

  http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_mega.htm

  After installing the codec, restart your computer and try playing the videos again.

  I am having the same problem.   MP4 files play fine but the flv files have sound but garbled video.  It happened after I did the latest upgrade on March 17 2018.  May be missing a codec.
