Is one time subscription not honored anymore

Back around 2009 I paid for what I was told was a one time fee that would grant me access to plus services for life.  I'm now being offered that same package for those same services.  What happened to the previous offer?  Are you not going to honor it any longer?  I sign in and it allows me to sign in but does not grant me access to the plus services.  Can you explain or fix this issue.

  When you originally purchased RealPlayer Plus, you purchased previous version, which was a one-time charge. Each version (RealPlayer 18, RealPlayer 16, RealPlayer 15, etc.) is considered a separate product--so with that purchase, you received updates and support of that version for no additional fees or hidden charges. However, we are no longer updating or supporting that version.

  For customers on Windows 7 and higher, we are now offering RealPlayer Plus version 18. This product offers additional features not included in previous versions.   Maria, that's bullshit & scammy!  WE PAID FOR LIFETIME MEMBERSHIPS!  WHAT ABOUT LIFETIME DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND, SCAMMERS!!!???
