a box keep popping up saying general error has occurred

that the software used to decode media is not available on this system
what software do I need to install to correct the problem.
whatever I had must have been uninstalled by a technical support scam
I let control my computer. That's why I had to change my debit card

I have been trying to been some dvd's in real player and it keeps telling me that it is an unknown file type and I can not get it to burn. keeps rejecting it every time I try. however, the dvd I burned before this one burned without a hitch. why will it burn one dvd and not the next one. everything is the same with both dvds I tried to burn. can anyone give me some advice as to why this is happening for it makes no sense to me. It is almost impossible to get help  from the support staff at realtimes. if anyone can offer any ways I can try to resolve this please respond. thank you in advance. endofdays@myactv.net       P.S. I just loaded the newest software from real times so I don't think it's the software. Again, as I said one dvd will burn fine and then the next time I try I get this message in my dvd burner.  Dave

    David,

The last time we received a contact from you was on 11/6/2017. We have not received any in recent times.

Are you trying to burn the same set of files or are the ones failing to burn have a different file format? Can you please confirm that?

I replyed to your most recent answer a few days ago and I have checked an my video's are the MP4 format. These are ALL new items in my library. I don't have anything left in library from year 2017. Now understand the area of video's I am using (again checking my format-all mp4. I just burned a dvd from that same list and it worked find). Then I went back to burn another dvd an low and behold it would not burn. Using the video's that were the same as the others in the first dvd (not exact same titles) but same kind I used before and that UNKNOWN FILE TYPE comes up, I am done that's as far as real player will let me go. There has to be a lodgical answer. If not maybe I am using the wrong provider for my service. Dave @ endofdays
