We see that you purchased RealPlayer Plus 20/20. If you installed RealPlayer 22, you will need to upgrade to activate Plus features in RealPlayer 22 as this is a different product with additional new features.

I have the latest version of realplayer already (I hit the link you provided and my pc notified that i have that version already installed)

I have followed what you have said to do, signing in and still nothing has changed. It's showing that I am getting the free version and still requesting that I should upgrade. If thats the case, I want my money back because I'm not getting what I paid for

    Mel,

If you are on RealPlayer 20/20 version, you should sign in to activate your 20/20 Plus features.

To clarify, please let me know what version you have currently installed.

I'm not having some technician remote connect to my pc when the problem is your end with accounts. I've done exactly what you have suggested. I've even uninstalled, rebooted my pc and installed again then signed in but it still shows that I am on the free version and have to upgrade. So I'll deal with the free version until I find a better program that's not going to rip me off.

    Mel,

Can you please send a screenshot where you find yourself as "Free"?

I paid $24.99 for this so call lifetime membership at 2023 0627 and one year later been asked for an upgrade of $39.99 again to the so call premium for some of the previous features were included?

Mike Wu, I am not sure if by lifetime membership you mean the "pay once" if that is the case then yeah it seems RealPlayer is now a bait and switch were everything on the plans and sales page just say "RealPlayer" not "RealPlayer 22 or 24"

This is a total scam, they know what they are doing. You have to pay to and search in your account info that it is a "RealPlayer 22" only Plan.

You can't talk to anyone on the phone. and person I was talking about this via email simply would not address the clear fact that all the sales info, the Plans page, The payment page, and my conformation email all say I paid for the "Pay Once" for "RealPlayer Downloader Express" NOT "RealPlayer Downloader Express 22"

I am honestly pretty close to filling a complaint with the BBB, not that it will matter.

Greg Maddox, You're right, thanks Greg. In the web era, there are(were) all kind of upgrade members and so confusing as times/age goes by. I'm gonna just stick on browser's adds-on/extensions called Video DownloadHelper.

I gave up trying to get an answer and solve the issue. Support kept asking for screenshots which I did yet they repeatedly replied that they didn't get. In the end, I refuse to waste any more money or time on it.

Yeah, I sent screen shots of the "Plan" page from the wayback machine from the day I ordered it, the payment page from the day I ordered it, none of which said the "pay once" was only for the 22 version of the program.

I pointed out my receipt did not say it was for the 22 version, and it is like I am the crazy person for thinking I was paying for "RealPlayer"

I tried calling the US office, you can hit 0 to talk to the 'front desk' it just rings a few times and says no one is there then hangs up.  If you hit 1 there is an option to speak to a human by hitting 0 but it just tells you 0 is an invalid entry and after 3 or 4 attempts it just hangs up on you.

This forum is full of people asking why they are being asked for money again when they paid a "Pay Once" fee, so it is not like they can say they don't know their plans and sales page are not listed properly and is  misleading.  Literally all they have to do is add the version number to the plan. So the plan page say "RealPlayer 22 or 24 Plans". and "Downloader Express 22 or 24"

Have they attempted to make their "Plans" sale page more clear? No
Have they attempted to make the payment page more clear? No

I am pretty sure this is by design and they just stone wall you if you manage to find the 'feedback' option on their website.

Mike Wu Yup since this issue came up I also downloaded Video downloadhelper.  Lets be honest the only reason to buy RealPlayer is it is convenient, and you can be lazy, everything you download is already in the player.

If they had the product clearly labeled I would not even be mad about it and I probably would have still paid for the convenience if offers, but now I just find out I got bait and switched... not cool.

and lets say I just suck it up, and I buy the 24 in 7 months they could release the 25 version, and I would have to 'Pay Once' a third time, and all three receipts would say I bought "RealPlayer Downloader Express"

I'm in the same boat as Mel and Greg on here. I had paid for the Real player Plus version for $39.99 for a lifetime membership as a user.myself and now, my account has the free version, WTF! I think these people flip the script on lifetime members and users because they are not having any income coming in to support their products and now they are being very deceiving and dishonest by charging us again for an updated version of Realplayer 24. I think they on the sly or cool underhandedly changed our plans in our accounts on here just to make it seem we didn,t purchase the plus, express or premium while having us down as Free.

Very dishonest and a very deceiving company!

I purchased RealPlayer Plus for $39.99 plus tax on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 8:32 PM EST.

It now says that I currently have the free version of RealPlayer. I don’t understand. I thought after the one-time purchase, it was yours for Life. Why am I asked to pay another $39.99? Is this tiered pricing subscription-based or a one-time purchase?

I have already purchased the upgrade. You said it was lifetime.  I refuse to purchase another premium membership. You have lost a good customer.  Shame on you.

I am also in the same boat.  bought 22 and after updating to 24 it now ask me to pay again.  at least warn people prior to updating that they will lose the premium feature and then we wouldn't update. Now i don't even know where to download the 22 version.  I will not be paying again thanks to WinXvideo AI which it even download the MP3 tag ID.

Update: Just installed ver. 22 from the link below and my premiums features are back but this defeat the purpose of buying life time version.
