Older version of Realplayer.
I have an older version of Realplayer on one of my computers which is far superior to the more recent versions. How do I find out which version I have, and how do I install that older version onto my computer? I am NOT asking about new versions, but an older version which allowed me to do things which the newest version doesn't!
I tried this and the screen you showed didn't come up - so I still don't know what version I've got.
What else can I try?

To find RealPlayer version:
1. Open the application and click the application logo in the upper left.
2. Click Help, then About RealPlayer or About RealTimes.
3. In the About window, look at the second line from the top. In this example, it is Version 18 (RealTimes):

Amen! Up until today when I was forced to download the new version I could insert a DVD and it would immediately run the movie. Now I can insert the same DVD and all I can get is an ad telling me I have to upgrade and pay $35.00 to watch the same DVD. And there is no way to play the DVD. They don't even say that I can play it if I do give them the $35.00 or even if the $35.00 is a one time expense or a periodic fee.

On checking our records, I see that you have a RealTimes free account.
DVD playback works best with a RealTimes Premium or Unlimited subscription, or in RealPlayer Plus with the Plus DVD playback components installed. On computers without the DVD playback components, DVD playback may not work, or may play only the video with no audio. In these cases, to play DVDs in RealTimes/RealPlayer you will need to upgrade to the Premium or Unlimited version and install the DVD playback components.

This service is not worth bothering with now, why should we suddenly have to pay extra for what we previously enjoyed for nothing, i will not recommend Realplayer to anyone again.
