no sound in real player

No sound from any file or website on real player. All other media and sounds work except real player. I uninstalled reinstalled before that did ALL HELP stuff and nothing. even tried to do free upgrade with offer paid offer but didn't get upgrade but that's another issue. I Prefer real player but like to have some sound with music videos. I just downloaded Real Player 8 and sound works Great but no features like download and such but sound works . GO FIGURE. If only the latest would work like the old. any ideas on how to get latest to work ?

To resolve, please perform a clean uninstall and reinstall of RealPlayer by following the below article:

Make sure you delete the RealPlayer folders as mentioned in the below article, before reinstalling RealPlayer.

NOTE: Deleting these folders will remove any playlists you've created; the files will remain in your library but the playlists will need to be re-created.0 -
when i plan any video in realplayer there is no sound. This is happening even on older videos thst had sound. I checked volume and mute but those are ok andd I checked preferences and devmgmt.msc still have the problem

Installing the K-Lite codec pack often helps to fix issues related to playback. You can install it from the link below:

After installing the codec, restart your computer and try playing the videos again.
