RealPlayerCloud codec issue

I have a video file with the file extension mpeg-2 and found that this file will play using the RealPlayer_Cloud Plus media player, however when opening the converter feature to convert the file to say an mp4 or wmv format, a error message pops up stating that there is no codec for this type of file. Now isn't it odd that this file will play which by logic would indicate that there is a codec within the RealPlayer_Cloud Plus media player. So what needs fixing or is there something that I didn't enable to allow this file to convert?

  Installing the K-Lite codec pack often helps to fix issues related to playback. You can install it from the link below:

  http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_mega.htm

  After installing the codec, restart your computer and try playing the videos again.
