end of file: error parsing ac3 audio stream - returned after big Windows 10 Update
Windows 10 put a big update on my computer today (8:8:2019), and now the - end of file: error parsing ac3 audio stream - message has returned. As before, it seems to only affect MP4 recordings, and if you convert them to Real Media HD files, then they can be burnt to DVD without failing but it involves time wasting converting and a slight loss of picture quality. Last time, with help from Sharma at Real Player, I found that I was missing a codec pack, which when she installed it, solved my problem. I assume that the Windows 10 Update has killed the codec, and I am back at square one. Do I need a new codec? Any ideas Sharma?
Thanks.
Phil Lansdown.

Can you please let us know what version of RealPlayer is installed on your computer?

I don't know where I find the software version number, but when I click on 'Check for Updates' it says 'You have the latest available software from Real, please check again at a later date'. If you let me know how to find it, I will let you know. Thanks. Phil

We actually fixed the AC3 error in this version. Can you please do one more thing for us.
Can you please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer\SonicSDMV\ and look for a file named AuthorScript.dll. Right click on this file and click Properties and then click the Details tab.
Can you please let us know what the Product version reads?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer
37.8 MB (39,649,605 bytes)
37.9 MB (39,780,352 bytes)
76 Files, 15 Folders

Is this what you need to know ? I t did not have a details tab.

No, that is not what we are asking. It appears you did the properties of the folder. I would like you to look for a file within this folder named "Authorscript.dll". Right click on this file and you will see a Details tab. Please let us know what the Product version is.

You have the correct version. Did anything change with your RealPlayer recently? Did you reinstall RealPlayer or anything change with your Windows recently?

Yes, as I said before, Windows 10 did a big update on my computer with lots of restarts. I just walked away from it until it was finished. I burnt an mp4 file onto dvd before the windows update without problem. 5 minutes after the update finished I went to burn another one and got the ac3 audio stream error message with the fail at 90% of the file as before. I have re-downloaded real player since, to see if it made a difference to the ac3 audio stream error message, but it did not.
I have also had an occasional error message (both before and after the windows update) which is - Unknown error. 2131042562 - this error seems to be a failure during the finalizing of a dvd. The info is on the disc (you can see it burnt on the shiny side), but Real player stops during the finalizing process. However, if you bin the disc, and do the exact thing again, with the same files, it works fine! Weird.

Would you be available for a remote session? A remote session will allow one of our technicians to connect to your computer remotely and troubleshoot the issue for you. We are usually available between 10AM & 4PM PST (Pacific Time Zone), Monday through Friday. Please give us a day's notice so we can schedule time with you.
