upgraded from free to paid dowloader express thinking it would fix issues. Now NOTHING works.
Upgraded to paid downloader express from re version, dowloaded and re=installed from site link. Start realplayer. Just get spinning blue wheel. DOesn't do anything. Start realplayer downloader. Looks exact same as before. Doesn't show dowloadable videos. Hover cursor acrpss top f screen. NohingCLick on "dowload a video from web link" icon. Nothing happens. Signed in on Chrome but dowloader shows "Sign in" icon. But when I click on "sign in" nothing happens. ALready verified email etc. Is there something else that needs to be done to make it actually work or make the change effective? I thought the paid version would be less wonkly and unreliable than the free version... but it doesn't seem to even start/ run.

Can you please let us know the following information:
Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer.
Right click on videodl and click Properties and then the Details tab.
Please provide us with the version number you see there.
Could you also provide us with a sample URL that you are unable to download0 -
WEll, it did EVENTUALLY start working. After spinning it's wheels for 4-5 hours, I was able to actually click on "sign in". THen it grinded away for another 3 hours or so and FINALLY got out of it's own way and I could actually start to use it.
That was a lot of wasted time and frustration.
You should add a very obvious disclaimer that it takes SOOO LOOOONG to intsall/setup/initialize. Who would EVER think it would take 7-8 HOURS?!?!?!?!?!
NO ONE would ever expect each step to take more than a few minutes each. We're not talking about a clean re-install of a WIndows OS here or anything. It should take MINUTES from dowload to funtional, not SEVERAL HOURS!

That is not normal. Something else must be blocking in your Windows. Like you said, it only takes a few minutes to install the program. Several hours is purely an anomaly. We won't know why it did that unless we troubleshoot. If you run into this issue again, please let us know and we can look at it deeper.
