can not check for updates

when I try to check for updates, it keeps giving me a message that I need to check with my administrator.  Well this is a private computer and I am the owner and administrator.  now what., just delete realplayer and go to another software>

  This is a Windows setting and not a RealPlayer setting. Your Windows is blocking you from installing updates. You will need to contact your PC manufacturer or Microsoft to see why you are not having the Admin rights to install programs.
