This error usually means one of the following.

  • Bad installation of RealPlayer.
  • Corrupted video file.
  • Hardware failure with your DVD Drive
  • Or, bad DVD disk

If the issue is related to the 2 reasons on top, you can follow these steps to resolve your issue.

  1. Re-install RealPlayer to fix the issue.
  2. Use RealConverter to convert the file to a different video format and then burn them to a DVD.

If the issue persists, you may have a hardware issue for which you may need to contact your PC manufacturer.

My friend who has RealPlayer 20/20 was asked to download some You Tube videos and he's having the EXACT same problems that I'm having. We both deleted & re-installed RealPlayer 20/20 and converted the videos from RP Hd to Android-Windows and back to HD. If there's an issue that you're unable to resolve, let us and others know so as to stop wasting our time trying to download our library to DVDs.

Our initial response was regarding the possible reasons for the error message you were seeing.

You haven't mentioned if you reinstalled the player as was the very first step. If you are still seeing the same error even after converting the file to a different format, please first reinstall RealPlayer. Here are instructions to follow.

If the issue persists, we still feel it could be your hardware like we mentioned initially.

We have many of our customers successfully burning DVDs. Please understand that when troubleshooting any technical issue, there are steps one takes to rule out causes.
