    With regards to the inability to download videos, we were able to identify the root cause and our engineering team was able to resolve it. To be able to download videos again, please follow these steps.

    1. Attempt to download any video of your choice (You will still have the same error).
    2. Simply restart your computer.
    3. Upon restarting your computer, the Downloader will be updated in the backend and your downloads should start working.
     
    If the issue still persists, please let us know.

    I have performed all of the actions you have recommended and I still CANNOT download ANY videos. I bought this product to be able to download videos from YouTube....I could do it for years (I have been an owner for years).  Lately, NOTHING is downloadable.  I have restarted Downloader, I have rebooted, I have even Reinstalled Windows and RealPlayer and Downloader....Still Absolutely NOTHING.   I do wish there were a way to personally contact someone from Real Networks.  It so so frustrating.

    Even a personal email would be great.  As a paying customer, you have my Email.

    If Realplayer opens then click the top left dropdown and find "Download a video"  Click that it might be all you have to do, then go back to Youtube and see if the drop down appears. This has worked for me many times, hope it helps.

    Robert Bowman, I did what you suggested....the blue drop down appears (it always does), but it just keeps spinning "Searching for a video" and finally says "Realplayer cannot download videos on this page"  This comes up no matter what video I select....It used to come up within 5 seconds of coming to a video and the dropdown would show the video and the option to download....no more.

    Larry,

    Can you please let us know the following information:

    Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer.
    Right click on videodl and click Properties and then the Details tab.

    Please provide us with the version number you see there.

    Could you also provide us with a sample URL that you are unable to download and the web browser you are using? Lastly, what version of RealPlayer and Windows have you installed?

    NOTE: as for a URL that does not work….Any Video from YouTube….NONE of them download no matter what I select.  (I used to always be able to download anything from YouTube)…so take your pick.
