    Hi Linda Poynton,

    I did not have to perform any of the procedures suggested by Real.com Just simply opened You Tube website (youtube.ca) using Chrome and start downloading videos. Didn't even have to restart my computer nor Realdownloader. Tried it again just now and still works. I can download videos from both YouTube and Dailymotion.

    Ok question now is: if the procedure works for some, it should work for all. Apparently, some people just signed onto YouTube and did nothing and downloading works fine even without following the reset instructions. Note to Realplayer. Even though some have found a way to make the downloader work, maybe luck, maybe the OS they are using, it clearly is not because they followed your instructions. For those of us who did follow the instructions, and the downloader still does not work, we know the problem has not been solved. If the app doesn't work, we'll just ditch it. I have the feeling there are more who still have a problem than the lucky ones who don't.

    Not sure why it works for some and not all. Switched to Apple products years ago so I'm not very familiar with pc. I have 2 old windows pc that I'm using for downloading purposes only. One, I did nothing and it started to work, the pc thats running window 10 had to perform the procedure suggested by Real. After performing the procedure, I have to copy and paste the YouTube link to the RealDownloader "download a video from a web link" box. Once it started to download, the little dropdown blue box started to work. Should probably search for another backup app for downloading since Real download is inconsistent. Good luck, hope it will work for you soon.

    Does it work for you only when you enter the URL and not from the dropdown box?

    I had to enter the URL for the first attempt but after, the dropdown box worked.
