Very slow download speed

Add me to the list.  Plus, after a slow download, just as it is about to finish, it gives me the unable to download error message.  Very frustrating.

  We have good news! Thank you for waiting patiently while we worked on fixing the slow download speeds. We updated RealDownloader so your downloads are faster. To update your RealDownloader, please follow these steps.

  1. Using Chrome, Firefox or Edge, go to YouTube.com and play any video and click the Downloader button. (This action will still show slow download speeds)
  2. Close all Windows
  3. Restart your PC (This will update your Downloader in the backend)

  Now try your video. If the issue persists, please let us know.

  Well, I don't seem to have the download button drop down, it is checked to use in the settings in Downloader.  I need to start the Downloader from link I have in my start-up tray.  I'm still at slow very download speed.  I did the Play, download, close, restart...same speed. 

  I'm running Win 10 and use both Firefox and Chrome.....neither show the download drop down, both download slow.

  Tony,

  If the Downloader button is not showing up in your browsers, it is possible that it is either disabled in Windows startup or your firewall program is blocking it.

  To check if your Downloader is not disabled, please follow these steps.

  1. Open Task Manager.
  2. Click on Startup tab.
  3. Look for RealDownloader and all other Real components and make sure they are set to "enabled".
  4. Click Task Manager,
  5. Restart RealPlayer and open a browser.

  Can you also please let us know the following information:

  1. Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer.
  2. Right click on videodl and click Properties and then the Details tab.

  Please provide us with the version number you see there. 

  Lastly, what version of RealPlayer do you have? Is it v.18 or v.20?

  Thanks for getting back to me.

  All are enabled. Real updated on 10\16\2021.  The lack of the download button has been for a while (a few months)....used to be there, then one day vanished.  I don't download a lot, but have some repairs to do, and having tutorial videos available off-line is preferred.

  Also, Real is checked as allowed thru the firewall.

  We released a newer version just a day ago. To update your RealDownloader, you can install the latest version from www.real.com.

  I have RealPlayer v.18, and slow video download speed. I like to know why there is no RealPlayer v.18 fix for this.

  Chuck, we will not be making any more updates to RealPlayer v.18. This version has reached end of life support. As RealNetworks makes new products available to customers, it's not possible for us to continue supporting older products. We are now offering RealPlayer v.20/20. This is the latest version of RealPlayer with many additional features.
