Can't play DVDs :(

HELP...

I purchased the RealPlayer software for the SOLE PURPOSE of playing DVDs on my Microsoft SurfacePro laptop, and IT WILL NOT WORK.  I get the following message:

"RealPlayer has stopped working.  A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

And of course I get no other feedback.  So I've completely wasted $39.99 and can't find any way to try to recoup my money. :(

Can anyone help me?

  its a laptop and I put in the dvd press start and doz not work can you help me?

  John,

  Can you please tell me if it crashes when you try to play the DVD with RealPlayer? Can you please make sure it is a normal DVD and not a Bluray? RealPlayer is not designed to play Bluray disks yet.

  You can also reinstall RealPlayer if you continue to see if the issue persists.
