Distorted video after recorded to the hard drive

Video's play perfectly on Youtube but after they are downloaded to my computer the recorded video is distorted. This is something very new to me I have had this computer for at least 6 years without any issues useing realplayer suddenly I can not watch any recorded video's anymore this is very frustrating please help me, thank you!

  Its quite possible you have old display drivers. First, make sure you have all of the Windows updates installed.

  You can also follow the these instructions to fix your  playback issue.

  1. Open RealPlayer.
  2. Click the RealPlayer logo, then Preferences. 
  3. In the Category pane, select Hardware.

  - Under Video Card Compatibility, move the slider bar to Most reliable.
  - Click OK twice to save the changes.
  - Close out of RealPlayer, restart it, and sign back in.
  - If this does not work, set Video Card Compatibility to Best Performance.
