Disappointing Quality Loss

Even with the latest updates to Real Player 2020, I see a noticeable loss in quality between the original and the downloaded  versions, even on lower resolution videos from Facebook or YouTube.  VLC and other downloaders I have installed do just fine, yet my paid version of RealPlayer Plus can't compete.

  Thank you for your feedback! If we understand the issue correctly, when you play a video with RealPlayer the quality is not as good as when played with other media players? If yes, please follow these steps.

  • Open RealPlayer and click the RealPlayer logo from the top left corner
  • Click Preferences and go to Hardware.

  • Move the slider to decrease (most reliable) or increase (best performance) the use of your video card's advanced capabilities. Older video cards or video drivers may not function properly with this feature. If your video is acting erratically, try setting the slider all the way to the left (most reliable).

    Note: You will have to restart your computer after changing this selection before the change can take effect

  If the issue persists, please attach a screenshot of the error/playback quality.
