The clean uninstall does not fix the problem. I fully executed the drill down suggested below and the trimmer is still not working. I guess it time to break down and purchase a real (no pun intende...

I agree. Every new update allows something else to fail.This problem is with the audio trimmer only. Video trimmer works fine. Thanks.
