Real Player 16 won't work on window XP

Hi, I have downloaded, as directed, Real Player 16 and installed on my laptop with with Windows XP.

When I tried to click on a mp4 file, a message pops up, saying '' We no longer able to provide software updates or Plus upgrade for older version of Windows.

Can you help?

  Installing the K-Lite codec pack often helps to fix issues related to playback. You can install it from the link below:

  http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

  After installing the codec, restart your computer and try playing the videos again.

  Note: As RealNetworks makes new products available to customers, it's not possible for us to continue supporting older products like RealPlayer 16 etc., We are no longer making any updates to RealPlayer Cloud, RealPlayer 16, or prior versions, so many features  may not work on these versions.
