Library keeps disapearing

The library music accessed from an external drive keeps disappearing. Those on the internal of the computer remain and are OK. This is extremely annoying as the external drive is 10s of 1000s and takes several hours to load. The first time I loaded it, after disconnecting the external drive and re-connecting, it was no longer there. I assumed I must have done something wrong so loaded again and this time it was there on re-connection but has now disappeared again on re-connection. I have used RealPlayer for several years without problems until I updated and all the library disappeared.

  Is the external drive a separate device that is connected to your PC that has RealPlayer on or is it connected to another computer that you "home network" into?

  This information should help understanding the issue better.
