after download, any attempt to view file freezes Realplayer program

any attempt to playback a video, results in the program freezing.  Only way to exit program seems to be to get to task bar and shut program down.   Have made numerous attempts to remove realplayer program files and do a clean install, without any success.   Any suggestions to correct the issue so the realplayer program is usable again?
