I have a video file from a surveillance camera that is recorded directly to .rf files. I needed to convert that file to mp4, so I was told to user RealPlayer. Whenever I try to open the file using RealPlayer, it tells me that I need a plugin to read that file. So I click Ok, and then RealPlayer tells me there were no plugins for this extension. Is it possible that there's no Player able to read this particular file type?

  The best option would be to use the software that came with your surveillance camera. That software should have an option to convert it to MP4 format. You can reach out to their support.
