    I have exactly the same problem - finishing with an "unable to download" error message . . . but only with recently uploaded youtube videos.  Older videos can still be downloaded without any hitche...

    Something goofy today.   When I tried to download a youtube video with my usual Chrome browser, I received an "unable to download" message.   Same thing with my backup Firefox browser.   Same thing...
