I see this is an old thread but I'm still having the same problem too.  I wish I knew of another program and I'd stop wasting my money on buying RealPlayer.

I'm having the same problem.  When I first upgraded to the new RealPlayer my downloader worked until I did the first update, then it stopped working.  I've had the same problem with earlier version...
