cd burner is not finalizing cds

I've been burning cd's forever, now all of a sudden it has stopped finalizing the discs.  What happeded?  The music is burned to the disc but not finalized and then they won't play correctly.

  This can happen if your CDs are working well. You can follow these steps to confirm where the problem is.

  1. Reinstall RealPlayer and see if that helps.
  2. Use a different set of CDs and see if that helps.
