Video not playing
I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 11. My previous laptop had Windows 10. I have installed Real Player onto the new laptop and I purchased the premium pack some time ago. However when I select some videos to play Real Player closes down. Any ideas?

Either some of those videos are corrupted or not compatible with RealPlayer. If you find that RealPlayer shuts down on any video, then RealPlayer is not installed properly. Try reinstalling RealPlayer.

Real Player did do an update two days later. Unfortunately the video I tried to play the same thing happened Real Player will shut down and I have to open it again. It used to play successfully on my previous device. I had a look at the file type and it is a flash video (.flv)

Is it happening only to only a selected few videos or to all videos?

It only appears to happen to flash videos (.flv) I tried to open five of them to see if the issue was happening to them all. When I clicked one of the videos I got a message stating this video could not be played and would I like to check for a newer version. I clicked yes and after 10 seconds RealPlayer shut down. The other four videos when I clicked them shut down RealPlayer without notification. I selected mp4 videos and they played no issues at all.

Can you try playing these FLV files with Windows Media Player? If it fails to play on that as well, then these FLV files are having some codecs which may not be playable with media players. Where did you get these files from?

I have tried playing with Windows Media Player and unfortunately did not work. I got these files from YouTube using the RealPlayer downloader. As stated previously these files played successfully on RealPlayer on my previous laptop that had Windows 10.

Would you be able to download the same video once again and try to play that video? If you have one of these FLVs less than 10MB, can you share it here? We can test it in-house.

Hello I have gone onto YouTube and used the RealPlayer downloader to download the videos however they are now being downloaded as MP4 files. So far I have attempted 15 files. If I download the files again as MP4 it would fix the problem however I can still share a FLV file that is less than 10MB. I was looking to find out how to share this file on this message but cannot find how to do this. Please advise.
