Unable to download certain Youtube videos
Last week I upgraded my RealDownloader so I could download Playlists. This never worked so I'll be cancelling my upgrade. However, now RealDownloader will not download copyright material (i.e. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foyAOoVagWw). I can look up this same song on Vimeo and am able to download it. The problem is I can't find all of the same videos on Vimeo. This was working a week ago...it's like YouTube changed something in copyright videos as I can download videos such as videos that do not have copyright: (i.e. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5iJI72fBJE)

Technology, as you know it is constantly and ever changing for the better.
That being said, YouTube and other websites are also constantly making changes to their websites by introducing newer technologies. Every time they make such changes and introduce newer technologies, it breaks our RealDownloader.
Our engineers have always been able to resolve these issues and as always, we have resolved the current downloader issue.
To resolve the downloader issue, please restart your computer and try again. If it still fails, can you please follow these steps and try again?
1. Open Internet Options from the search window.
2. Under General Tab, click Delete in Browsing History and follow prompts.
3. Close Internet Options.Once you are done resetting your Internet Options, please follow these steps:
1. Using Chrome, Firefox or Edge, go to YouTube.com and play any video and click the Downloader button. (This action will still show "Unable to download" message)
2. Close all Windows
3. Restart your PCNow try your video. If the issue persists, please let us know.

I followed all of the steps below and the realdownloader still does not work with the majority of the Youtube videos....mostly commercial songs, movies, or tv shows....

Looks like the previous steps didn't update the downloader.
Can you please do this and let us know if it helped? (These are slightly different steps from the previous)
1. Open Internet Options from the search window.
2. Under General Tab, click Settings in Browsing History and click View Files. (This will open a folder with a lot of files. Select all and delete them).
3. Close Internet Options by clicking Ok.
4. Using Chrome, Firefox or Edge, go to YouTube.com and play any video and click the Downloader button. (This action will still show "Unable to download" message)
5. Close all Windows
6. Restart your PC0 -
Okay, the last set of instructions got it working again, both individual downloads and playlists...for two days...
Now we're back to square one and the error message "No videos found at that web address" displays whenever on Youtube but I have no problem on Vimeo.
I retried everything mentioned earlier but the behavior did not change. Is YouTube really changing their codings this quickly?

It may be because the folks putting up the video want to keep it private (copyright) so you cannot download as they have made it "private." In order to access it so you can download it, you would need their pin number. What I do is video it (if it isn't too long) with my cell phone and it goes to my icloud account as well, so then I can access it there.

Chris,
Yes, YouTube is frequently making changes to their websites with newer technologies. Each time these websites make changes, it breaks the downloader function. We have to re-engineer our downloader to make it compatible again. This is an ongoing process and therefore, when the next time it breaks, be rest assured that we will be fixing it. Just that it takes time to identify to changes as they don't inform us of the changes and are not expected to.
We are glad it is working for you now.

It's not working again...as stated in my last comment.
I can download some but 90% of the YT videos give the same error: "No videos found at that web address".
I'll see if you fix it in the next couple of days...

Chris,
Can you please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer and look for a file named videodl.
Right click this file and click Properties. Once in the Properties, click the Details tab and let us know the version number you see there.

Chris,
That is the correct number and you should be able to download videos with this updated file.
We have sent you an email. We'll take it from there.
