Downloader not working on all sites

I first purchased Realplayer  and the downloader in 2012. At that time the downloader worked on almost all sites I attempted to use it, with very few exceptions. Today, after many years of subscribing and using Realplayer, it is just the opposite...downloader works on hardly any sites, and this has been going on for a couple of years. One day ago, I thought to completely reset my computer, download a new windows browser (google) and install a new Realplayer and downloader...and now it's even worse. Besides the continuous problems with Youtube, there are only 3 other sites, featuring both audio and video that are all I can use. Now I'm wondering, do many of these sites BLOCK Real downloader? Are they setting up the inability for Realplayer download users from gaining their content? If this is the case, I will need to find another downloader after all these years. I would appreciate a response from someone at Realplayer, and others who are having the same problem.
