The easiest way to back up your RealPlayer Library would be to upload it to RealCloud - see: https://customer.real.com/hc/en-gb/articles/205645757-Backup-settings

Note: You would need a RealTimes Premium or Unlimited subscription in order to have Cloud space. For prices, visit: real.com

If you are not interested in uploading content to RealCloud, please note that the photos and videos that you see in your RealPlayer Library are actually saved on your PC hard drive and not in the player itself. (Only playlists are saved in the player, however, there isn't a way to back those up.) You can therefore back up your photos and videos by copying them to an external device (external hdd or usb, etc.) using Windows Explorer - see: Transfer files to and from a portable device

To learn how you can re-import your files to the RealPlayer Library, please consult: Files missing from Library

    Milena,

    Thanks for your response.

You have told me that I can back up the photos and the videos that are in m,y RealPlayer Library.  My question was how to back up and restore the *library* rather than the photos and videos themselves.  I have files in the library with changes I have made to the captions in the library and those caption changes get lost every time something happens to the library.  How can I back up and restore the library?  Are there specific files in specific folders that make up the library that can be copied?  If so, what files and what folders?

    Thanks.

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to save the changes made to the files in the RealPlayer Library, such as captions editing - I'm sorry for the disappointment.

    Milena,

I am disappointed in your response saying the information in the library can't be backed up, because it doesn't make sense.  In earlier versions of the software, there were menu commands to back up and restore the library built right into the software.  Further, for the library to keep the changes made to the captions from one instance of running the software to the next, it must be storing that information somewhere.  Making a copy of whatever file(s) that information gets stored in ought to enable someone to back up that information.

Are you absolutely sure that information isn't stored somewhere that can be copied?  If not, how does the library keep that information in the first place?

    Thanks.

I am checking with our development team to confirm the (im)possibility of backing up the RealPlayer Library, including the changes made to file titles. As soon as I have it, I'll post whatever additional information they can bring that could help you with your query.

    I appreciate your patience.

    Hello Jim,

Thank you for your patience with this issue.

I'm sorry to let you know that our developers have confirmed the impossibility to back up changes made to the files in the Library such as caption changes, etc. I'm really sorry for the disappointment.
