Is it really the case that the videos i download from my Panasonic TZ7 and 90 cameras ?

"An MTS file is a video saved in the Advanced Video Coding High Definition (AVCHD) format. It is the standard video format used by many Sony and Panasonic HD camcorders. It is also used for storing high definition video on Blu-ray discs. MTS is short for "MPEG Transport Stream."

If so, then the claim below is nonsense - please advise whether this REALLY is the case:
