"Unable to run necessary application" error from Auto Update in RealPlayer
When I run RealPlayer (with Realtimes) version 18.1.3.100 on Windows 10 and try to Check for Updates, I get the dialog box saying that there is an update to Realplayer with Realtimes and the version for the update is: 18.1.8.212, it is selected and I click the Install button to try to download and install, but then it seems to download and stops with the Auto Update error: "Unable to run necessary application" and that is all it says. I also can't "Sign in" when I click on the "Sign In" button from realplayer, not because of my account, but because it never asks for my account. Instead as soon as you click Sign In I get the error message window: "Currently not connected to RealTimes" To reset your connection, please restart your computer". Mind you, I restart my computer regularly, so this is not a restart problem. Can you send me the patch for my RealPlayer? I am so close to just trashing RealPlayer for all these problems. You have to at least be able to get the Check Updates and Install Wizards working no matter what. I can't have outdated patches on my machine and I am not paying for upgrades when the current version can't even be patched properly. Fix my current version then try to sell the upgrades, don't break my version and expect me to buy more buggy upgrades. Thanks.

To resolve the issues described, please uninstall your version 18.1.3.100 and download version 18.1.8.212 directly from our website: http://www.real.com/
For help with uninstalling and reinstalling RealPlayer, please refer to: Uninstall and reinstall RealPlayer on Windows
Note: You don't need to pay for upgrades at this point as you already have RealPlayer Plus version 18. Once you've installed the latest updates, just sign in to re-enable your Plus features - see: Signing in to RealPlayer
If for some reason you are still seeing a "Currently not connected.." error when trying to sign in, please see: "Currently not connected to RealTimes/RealPlayer Cloud"
I hope this helps.
