Regarding the previous purchase: Please note that each version (RealPlayer 18, RealPlayer 16, RealPlayer 15, etc.) is considered a separate product. When you peviously purchased RealPlayer Plus, you purchased RealPlayer 16, which was a one-time charge. With that purchase, you received updates and support of that version for no additional fees or hidden charges. However, we are no longer updating or supporting that version.
Please note that new versions are new products and like most software companies, we charge for major upgrades. For customers on Windows 7 and higher, we are now offering RealPlayer Plus version 18. This product offers additional features not included in previous versions. The Plus/Premium version of this version requires a purchase.
Regarding this proactive automatic message: Please note that the upgrade is not mandatory, it's only optional. You can always continue using the Free version of RealPlayer.
As for the RealPlayer Library files: I would like to add that this change will affect only the files uploaded to RealCloud. However, all the downloaded files are locally saved on your PC: C:\Users\User name - your name\Videos\RealPlayer folder. RealPlayer simply creates a shortcut to these files through the Library.
