unable to burn downloaded wmv videos to CD

 The purpose of subscribing to Real Player was to download videos to RP and burn them  to a CD RW.  I have converted all the files from mp3 to wmv because mp3 files could not be burnt to a CD, but now the wmv are an "unsupported media type".  Is there is another file conversion which will allow me to burn  a CD RW?  If not, why am I paying a $ 40 premium to view videos on a Real Player when I can view them for free on my PC ? 

Please advise.
