PC File Storage Folder location gets stuck after first change

I save my videos on a 4 Terabyte external drive.  To select the import folder on the external hard drive I go to:

Real Player Logo>Preferences>Library & Device Sharing>File Storage

The right hand side of the " File Storage selection window" allows me to Browse where I want to save my Imported Video files.  I select a folder (say folder #1) on my external hard drive and select the "OK" button.  Imported Video files are now directed to that folder.  That works the first time.

After importing several files on one topic into folder #1, I repeat the steps above to select a different import folder (folder #2) on my external hard drive for a different topic.

The bug is:  All the files import to folder #1, even though the " File Storage selection window" shows folder #2.

It's stuck on folder #1.  I've tried closing RealPlayer, signing off of RealPlayer, shutting down my computer, changing the folder to my C: drive.  I even deleted folder #1, but RealPlayer creates it again on my external hard drive.   Everything now goes to folder #1 forever.

I did not try uninstalling and reinstalling RealPlayer.  I don't expect it to fix the problem and don't want to spend any more time on debugging it.

Hope you have enough info to fix the code for multiple changes to to the video import file location.

Thanks,

: Sam

Hello,

Still doesn’t work.

Changing Private to Disable according to https://customer.real.com/hc/en-us/articles/204043063 didn’t work. I don’t see why you made me try that because I don’t think it had anything to do with the problem of not being able to specify an import folder location.

I ran uninstall according to https://customer.real.com/hc/en-us/articles/204040013-Uninstall-and-reinstall-RealPlayer-on-Windows and I checked the boxes to uninstalled RealPlayer and Library.

I reinstalled RealPlayer, (Version 18.1.7.344 - three times and signed in), downloaded a short video. Right clicked on the video shown in the RealPlayer Library screen and selected Locate File. The video was imported into …. My Videos>RealTimes>RealDownloader. I went to RealPlayer logo>Preferences>Library & Device sharing>File Storage>Videos>Browse and navigated to my external hard drive and selected a folder. That folder is now displayed on the RealPlayer>File Storage>Video screen. I clicked OK and downloaded another video. I again Right clicked on the video shown in the RealPlayer Library screen and selected Locate File. The video location was imported into ( …. My Videos>RealTimes>RealDownloader). The file location did not change to the folder on my external hard drive, even though RealTime File Storage Video screen shows the location of the external hard drive.

With the latest download, the RealPlayer, File Storage, Video location can be changed, but to actual folder for import doesn’t change. This is different from the RealPlayer I downloaded last week. Last week’s version let me change the location once. The latest RealPlayer download will not change the actual import location at all.

I need to specify my external hard drive as the video import location because I don’t want to fill up my C: dirve.

Thanks,

: Sam
