Realplayer sound does not work in library downloads

It just stopped working out of the blue.

I have updated my soundcard drivers.

I have changed the hardware preferences as advised

I have done everything... even re-installed realplayer. Still no sound.

All other media players work... so it is definitely a problem specific to realplayer, and not my drivers or volume or anything else

I tried a download that was advised elsewhere from Fileforum, but my antiVirus said it was dangerous and blocked it!

Can someone suggest something else that isn't malicious?

I can't reply to the post below for some reason but absolutely nothing happens when I right-click the speaker icon.

Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Right click on the "Speaker" icon next to your system clock which is on your bottom right corner

2. Click on Open Volume Mixer

3. If you see RealPlayer under Applications, please unmute it

Please let me know if this helped resolve your issue.

In answer to your question below (which does not allow replies, despite you asking)... right-clicking on the speaker icon does nothing at all. Nada. Zip.
