Can't finish install of newest version of realplayer

 I just paid for the latest offer to upgrade only to go through the process of downloading and beginning the installation, but the progress bar just sits at 50% for the past half hour or so even though the little dots keep bouncing from one circle to the next.

I am the one who posted the request for help.

This is ridiculous that I pay for a new version and there is no way to reach support at REAL and I have to sit here wondering what to do. can I just dump the installation or will that mess things up. 

So if anyone can reach anyone at real.com, tell REAL to get REAL.

There is a 30 day guarantee on the upgrade, but at this rate who even knows how to reach anyone to ask them for a refund? There ought to be some better solution than waiting for someone to happen to see my post.

I just decided to cancel the install completion, but it won't stop!. Should I bring up task manager and dump it that way? I sure hope this doesn't mess up my previous version!!!!

Can ANYONE help me?

To resolve your installation issue, please follow these steps.

1. Go to Control Panel and uninstall RealPlayer.
2. Go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed and download and run the installer.
3. Once the Fixit program opens, click Next.
4. Select Uninstalling.
5. You will see a list of programs installed. Scroll down and look for "Video Downloader". Select that and click Next and click on "Yes, try uninstall". This will remove the application.
6. Run the Fixit program once again. (You will need to run this program a few times)
7. Follow steps 4 and remove the following programs (in the said order)
a. RealUpdgrade 1.1
b. RealDownloader
c. RealDownloader
Note: You have to run Fixit each time you want to uninstall these applications.
8. Delete Real & RealNetworks folders from
a. C:\Program Files (x86)
b. C:\Programdata
c. C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming
d. C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local

Once you have uninstalled all of them and deleted the folders, restart your computer. Download RealPlayer from www.real.com. Ideally, this should install properly.

I did step 1, but in the cleanup process it stalled out. and when i go to control panel again and click uninstall it says "Please wait until the current program is finished uninstalling or being changed.

Now what?????

Forgot to mention, I first checked with Task Manager and found out the uninstaller was not responding

Please restart your computer and follow the steps we originally mentioned. If the issue still persists, please let us know.
