Troubleshooting CD-burning errors
I'm getting CD-burning errors in RealPlayer/RealTimes. What can I do?
Note: If you burned a CD, but it doesn't play afterwards, click here.
Solution 1: Check that your burner is supported.
Click here to see if your burner is supported.
Solution 2: Lower the Burn Speed.
1. Open RealPlayer.
2. Click the application logo in the upper left and select Preferences.
3. On the left, you should see CD. Expand this by clicking the + symbol.
4. Click CD Burning.
5. Adjust the Write Speed. Decrease this to the smallest value. Generally, 4X should be fine. You can adjust this to a higher speed once you get it working at a lower speed.
Solution 3: Enable "Always Use Track at Once" for CD burning.
1. Open RealPlayer.
2. Click the application logo in the upper left and select Preferences.
3. On the left, you should see CD. Expand this by clicking the + symbol.
4. Click CD Burning.
5. Check "Always Use Track at Once".
Solution 4: Verify that the content plays appropriately through RealPlayer.
1. Go to the Library tab, and find one of the tracks you're trying to burn.
2. Double-click it to begin playback. If it doesn't play in RealPlayer, it can't be burned to CD using RealPlayer.
Solution 5: Verify that you are using CD-R's and that they are clean and not damaged.
1. Try using another CD-R for burning.
2. Verify that the disk looks clean and doesn't have any light circles burned to it.
